TRIBUTE TO VAUDEVILLE
The singers, the dancers, the guys in baggy pants,
They gave us greats like Jolson, Cantor, Gleason and Durante,
So I'm happy to say with a smile,
Vaudeville is back in style!
Yes, they are back. Sechelt's own talented performing troupe of Vaudeville performers, The Funtastics, are ready to bring you 2 hours of fun filled and entertaining old fashioned Vaudeville.
Three performances are set for Friday, April 13th at 7pm, Saturday, April 14th at 7pm and a special Sunday, April 15th matinee at 2pm. Tickets are on sale at the Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre, Laedeli in the Sunnycrest Mall and Strait Music on Cowrie Street. Last year's Vaudeville Show was a complete sell out and it's expected that all 2012 tickets at $15.00 per person will sell out fast. In particular, tickets for the Sunday matinee show are selling quickly.
After the production last year, The Funtastics troupe represented the Seniors Centre in the Canada Day parade and won the BEST FLOAT award. And later in December, some of the entertainers led by Music Director, Berni G, put on an hour of entertainment for the Centre's annual Christmas luncheon and drew a huge, sold out crowd.
This year's Vaudeville Show is zany, corny, outrageous, lots of fun and very entertaining. It has come to Sechelt in a big way with a tremendous show of singing, dancing, magic, wisecracks, skits, and just plain fun! Returning with new material are the Keystone Cops, our own delightful dancers, and the Bucket Quartet.
This year there are 10 additional performers and a larger production team!!
Artistic Director Susie Francis and Musical Director Berni G head a talented production team which includes Priscilla Hendriks (Producer), Pam Gregorchuck (Stage Manager), Al Burns (Drummer), Larry Baker and Charles Ranchie (Sound), and a number of costume, props, front of house and other volunteers.
If you like to laugh, get your tickets early to avoid sell out disappointment. It's The Funtastics hilarious, foot stomping, gut wrenching TRIBUTE TO VAUDEVILLE, coming soon to the Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre.
